Thank you James, this was really enjoyable. I’m trying to learn Finnish via Duolingo. As you say, the pronunciation is pretty straightforward once you learn the rules you laid out. It’s the way nouns, verbs, etc. change depending on the context in which they are used that I find difficult.
I don’t expect to ever really “speak” Finnish but I just enjoy the process – the way that the words feel as they trip off one’s tongue. It’s a lovely language.
